The Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) today announced a new world record for drilling the longest oil and gas well in the Upper Zakum concession.
The well extends for a distance of 50,000 feet and its length exceeds the record for the longest well in the world previously announced in 2017, by about 800 feet, and supports ADNOC’s efforts to increase its production capacity from oil and gas resources to contribute to meeting the growing global demand for energy. ADNOC Drilling drilled the new well from Umm Al Anbar Island, one of ADNOC’s artificial offshore islands.
