US House of Representatives passes resolution honoring Queen Elizabeth’s soul

The US House of Representatives has approved a resolution honoring the late British Queen Elizabeth II, who died last Thursday.

According to the American newspaper, The Hill, the members of the Council approved this decision by unanimous vote before ending Tuesday’s work and adjourning the session.

Drew Hamill, a spokesman for House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, said that passing this resolution was in line with a parliamentary precedent in the history of Congress, where House members voted on a similar resolution and the session was adjourned when British King George VI died in 1953.

Council lawmakers also participated in a minute’s silence to mourn the death of Queen Elizabeth during the session.
