The number of Chinese investors in the UAE capital markets reached 817 investors by the end of 2017, the value of which exceeded 900 million dirhams, according to official figures, which also showed the presence of more than 15 Chinese investment institutions operating in the markets. The number of buy and sell transactions executed by Chinese investors reached 4543 transactions on the Dubai Financial Market in 2017 and traded shares of 159.13 million shares worth 326 million dirhams. “The market has a huge and diversified investor base of over 840,000 investors representing more than 200 countries,” said Hassan Al Serkal, Chief Operating Officer and Chief Operating Officer, DFM. “As for registered Chinese investors, there are 566 investors with 76.2 million shares Of listed companies’ shares. ” He said that the UAE markets are one of the most attractive markets for foreign investment in the region thanks to the development of its organizational structure and the basic investment opportunities it offers as a direct reflection of the strength and diversity of the national economy, which maintains good and sustainable growth rates.
