Mechanism for creating an account for electric vehicles

Within the framework of accelerating the pace of services provided to individuals, a number of interested parties asked about the mechanism for creating an account for electric vehicles in Dubai.

According to Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, customers can create an account for their electric vehicle, where the green charger card for the electric vehicle is issued automatically, and registered with the same name saved in the Emirates ID, trade license or passport, provided that the card is delivered to the customer within 3 working days.

Regarding insurance fees, the authority explained that the fees for individuals “owners of non-commercial cars” and businesses “owners of commercial cars” amount to 500 dirhams, while the government is exempt from the insurance amount.

As for the delivery fee for the green charging card for electric vehicles, it amounts to 20 dirhams for individuals (owners of non-commercial cars), businesses (owners of commercial vehicles) and government agencies. The card is also delivered to customers via express mail at their registered address within 3 working days from Submit the application, via the Authority’s website or its smart application.
