The SFDA, represented by the Center for Research and Advisory Studies, conducted four studies on consumer behavior in the Saudi market during the shopping of food and consumer products. The first study focuses on whether the consumer reviews the information and nutritional values, the date of production or completion and the country of origin, This information is related to the health and nutritional status of the consumer.

 The second study concerned food labels on juices and milk products. After studying the contents of these substances, the basic elements such as sugars, fats and salt, in addition to the total calorie intake of these products, and whether the consumer will read or distinguish these stickers, Will change his decision after reading or alerting these posters, in addition to studying the reasons for not reading the food labels and the impact of social media on consumers in their choice.

Three stickers were designed, including warning signs of high content of sugar or fat, as well as light signals that classify the content into three colors: red, which means the height of this element is highly recommended, and yellow, which is classified as higher than the average recommended limit , Green, which means that it limits the daily recommendations of these elements.

The third study deals with industrial baby milk, the reasons for the consumer’s consumption of it, the non-use of breastfeeding methods, and the sources of information used to determine the type of milk and the most important nutritional information when choosing the type of milk.
The fourth study examines the awareness of consumers in the Saudi market of the role of the SFDA and its roles to achieve safety and safety of food, medicine, medical devices and effective means of communication with the Commission.
These studies are carried out initially after the agreement with the Carrefour shopping center in three branches in Riyadh. The study will be implemented at the level of the Kingdom, as agreed with other shopping centers to cover the studies of the Kingdom’s areas effectively.
The agreement was launched between the Center and the SFDA in the presence of Dr. Saleh Al Dosari, the Executive Vice President of the Food Sector, and Dr. Nasser Bin Dheim, Director of the Center for Research and Studies.
And contributed more than 250 volunteers in the four studies of 6072 volunteer hours, and worked to collect data for these studies through 6000 questionnaires in the region of Riyadh
