More than 3.3 million passengers through Sharjah Airport over 3 months with growth of 6.55%

During the third quarter of this year, Sharjah Airport received 3.233 million passengers, an increase of 6.55% over the same period last year. The airport recorded 3.118 million passengers and handled the airport with 22.21 thousand regular and irregular flights compared with 21.26 thousand passengers during the same period last year. An increase of 1185 flights by 5.64%. The volume of air cargo through the airport during the third quarter of 2018 was more than 32.22 thousand tons.
The increase in passenger numbers was mainly driven by the number of new destinations and additional flights for airlines operating at Sharjah Airport, especially Air Arabia, as well as the development of service levels and the contribution of smart gates to increase passenger traffic and increase capacity.
