Launching the largest project in the Middle East to rehabilitate street lighting in Saudi Arabia

The National Energy Efficiency Services Company has streamlined the rehabilitation program for street lighting in Saudi Arabia, which will be launched in Dammam, Khobar, Dhahran, Al Ahsa and Skaka with the aim of achieving energy savings of up to 77% compared to current consumption , As part of the program of rehabilitation of lighting lamps in the Kingdom where the program was launched from Riyadh.
These projects are the largest of its kind in the field of upgrading the electrical consumption of street lighting systems in the Middle East. The project aims to rehabilitate nearly two million street lighting lamps in the coming period by introducing guided lamps according to international technical studies and standards in the field of energy efficiency. These projects also fall within the objectives of the Kingdom to reduce Electricity consumption by raising the efficiency of energy use in the government sector, with total consumption in the sector 38.5 GWh, equivalent to 13% of the total consumption of electricity in Saudi Arabia.
The expected savings in the first phase of these cities (Dammam, Khobar, Dhahran, Al Ahsa and Skaka) range between 70% and 77% in the electricity consumption of 314,052,541 kWh per year, by replacing approximately 216,700 LED lights (LED), which is more energy efficient than conventional lamps, which provides about 241,257,257 kWh per year and better performance.
