An agreement between “Abu Dhabi Ports” and the Turkish “Tosyali” for cooperation in maritime freight and logistics services

Abu Dhabi On January 25, the Abu Dhabi Ports Group signed a preliminary agreement with Tosyali, one of the largest private sector steel producers in Turkey, which operates extensive operations on three continents.

The agreement stipulates setting a framework for the group’s cooperation with Tosyali in a wide range of services that include shipping, logistics, ports and freight forwarder services, in addition to the possibility for the two sides to jointly invest in new port facilities to support Tosyali’s export operations.

Tosyali, through its 30 production plants, partnerships and joint ventures in Turkey, Algeria and Angola, produces more than 10 million tons of steel annually, large quantities of which are shipped to various markets around the world. The company also operates an industrial facility in the Turkish port of Iskenderun, It is involved in the development work of the new port of Erzen.

The Abu Dhabi Ports Group had expanded its freight fleet and logistics operations during 2022 through a series of acquisitions and joint ventures, making it an ideal partner for Tosyali, which is witnessing rapid growth in its operations.

Executive officials believe that cooperation will contribute to strengthening trade relations between the UAE and Turkey, as the volume of non-oil trade exchange between the two countries grew by 54% on an annual basis during 2021, to reach 50.4 billion dirhams.

Captain Mohamed Juma Al Shamsi, Managing Director and CEO of Abu Dhabi Ports Group, expressed his happiness at signing the agreement with Tosyali, the leading steel producer in Turkey and the largest in Africa. advanced technologies to dealers such as Tosyali.
