Inauguration of the exhibition and conference “The community of boats and maritime industry industry” in Dubai

The two-day “ Seatrade Community of Boats and Marine Industry 2019 ” exhibition and conference opened today to highlight the global offshore market in the presence of a group of maritime experts and international companies in the field of maritime vessels and work boats.
Amer Ali, Executive Director of Dubai Maritime City Authority, said after the opening of the exhibition that the maritime sector has witnessed a remarkable growth through which a set of achievements and developments have contributed to the enhancement of innovation and progress in this sector and establish the emirate’s position as one of the most important maritime capitals in the world. The event plays an important role as an ideal platform for interactive discussions and an important step to support Dubai’s vision, praising the efforts of the offshore market to promote knowledge and partnerships among stakeholders.
The first day of the event saw the signing of a cooperation agreement between the companies “Shotel” and Bawardi Damen to serve the full electric propulsion of a new type of ships.
The conference kicked off with significant discussions under the theme of ‘Market Optimism’ in partnership with the US Bureau of Shipping (ABS) .The main session highlighted the positive performance of the maritime market during the first quarter of 2019, which in turn contributed to the improvement of the use of ships and increased pricing for ship owners.
A panel of maritime industry leaders discussed recent market trends in production, oil exploration, E&P, expenditure and the use of drilling rigs, as well as an assessment of the current performance indicators of the offshore market, which could witness a slight decline, in addition to discussing the strongest trading conditions that could be witnessed. The sector under the period increased the number of naval vessels.
Chris Hayman, President and CEO of Seatrade, said the growing performance of the offshore market is characterized by many current activities, especially in the oil trade, where the event comes to confirm that it is time to discuss the recent trends facing the current market. “Market Optimism” during the “Seatrade Community of Boats and Maritime Industry” will set the course and trends for the offshore sector in the years and months ahead and we will discuss the topic at the main session in many other sessions.
