Sharjah Economic Council Promotes Birq License for Business Incubators

The Department of Economic Development in Sharjah organized two workshops to promote Birq’s license for business incubators in cooperation with the Higher Colleges of Technology. The most important data on the legal requirements and obligations of the license were presented at the Higher Colleges of Technology in Sharjah for students.
The workshop was presented by Mentha Al Moallem, Head of Business Development Department at Sharjah Economic Development Department and Mona Abdul Razzaq, Head of Audit and Follow-up Division, with the participation of a number of students from the Faculty of Business Administration.
The workshop discussed the importance of activating the cooperation agreement between the two sides in order to develop the investment spurt of academic entrepreneurs and to achieve knowledge exchange among investors, pioneers and beneficiaries of the quality licenses of the national entrepreneurship program.
The workshop discussed the conditions for approval of the practice of economic activities in business incubators, which are determined by the technical colleges, the most important of which is the idea of ​​the project, the feasibility study, the financial ability of the applicant, the ability to innovate and develop, and the desire to work within the guidance of the incubators center.
HE Sultan Abdullah Bin Haddah Al Suwaidi, Head of Sharjah Economic Development Department, said that such workshops represent a true embodiment of efforts to enhance integration, cooperation and coordination in advancing the economic planning mechanisms in line with the ambitious aspirations to build a competitive productivity-based knowledge economy.
He added that the business must have a sound beginning and a well-developed economic approach to flourish and grow. Therefore, we have targeted the Birq Entrepreneurship Project for young UAE nationals who are enrolled in the Higher Colleges of Technology, where we cooperate with them to provide a business incubator for them to carry out their economic activities. The economic field and the administrative tools available to help in the success of the project, including the license that qualifies the owner to practice economic work in the emirate.
For her part, Amal Habash, Deputy Director of Commercial Affairs Department at Sharjah Economic Department stressed the Department’s keenness to provide all necessary support to the development and sustainability of the business sector in the Emirate of Sharjah by enhancing the concepts of creativity and innovation among college students to build a knowledge-based economy that focuses on the Department’s objectives in supporting And guiding and follow-up student projects, which is in line with the strategy of the State and the Emirate of Sharjah to reach the largest segment of young entrepreneurs in various economic sectors.
