Dubai Economic Zone: The start of the evaluation phase of applications for excellence awards for the business sector

Dubai Economic Development Department (DED) has announced that the judges of the Excellence Awards for Business will start the process of evaluating the applications of companies participating in various categories for the 2018 cycle, the Dubai Quality Award, the Dubai Human Development Award and the Dubai Service Excellence Program.
The performance of the participants will be evaluated according to the highest international standards and competitiveness, in order to ensure that Dubai’s economy is neutral in the selection of candidates by winning and thus enhancing competition between companies in applying best practices in Dubai and the UAE in general.
The panel of judges includes a wide range of experts in the fields of quality management, human resources and various other sectors, with a minimum of eight years of experience. The judges of the award are selected from senior officials and executives working in the public and private sectors in the UAE to ensure the professionalism and smoothness of arbitration.
Sheikha Al Bishri, Director of Excellence for Business, said: “The team of arbitrators is working on filtering the participating parties to ensure that all the guarantees that qualify them to win the prize are reviewed and the final grades and technical reports obtained by all applicants who have visited their sites are reviewed. Noting that the first phase will witness the selection of 260 participants to enter the nomination phase to win the excellence awards for two thousand and five commercial establishments submitted to participate, which reflects the keenness of arbitrators to evaluate applications and conform to the highest international standards.
Al-Bishri added that the jury consists of government representatives and business leaders who have experience in the field of quality management systems and the consultant certificate of the international expert of the European Foundation for Quality Management, stressing that the experience of the arbitrators contributes to raising the level of performance and enhancing the competitiveness of outstanding practices year after year. The other prize winners play a vital role in encouraging companies to compete in the race of excellence and improve their performance, thus ensuring the spread of quality concepts and standards in the business community in Dubai.
She pointed out that the Dubai economy is keen to select an additional group of arbitrators year after year followed by a series of workshops and awareness lectures to familiarize them with the new standards approved by the European Foundation for Quality Management, which is adopted in the program of evaluation of participants in the awards of excellence for the business sector.
Since its inception in 1994, the Dubai Quality Award has been supported and sponsored by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. His support has been instrumental in establishing standards of quality and excellence in the public and private sectors. In the Emirate of Dubai .. The Dubai Quality Award encourages and motivates companies and institutions to adopt the policy of excellence and provide the best services and recognition of best practices in order to enhance standards of quality and excellence in performance and work.
The winners of the Dubai Quality Award are honored in three categories: the Gold category, the Dubai Quality Award category and the award category. Awards are awarded to companies and institutions operating in Dubai in sectors that play a role in supporting the economy of Dubai, including manufacturing, tourism, finance, services, trade, construction, Education, real estate and retail sectors. Free zones were added to transport and logistics.
The Dubai Human Development Award seeks to reward and honor the outstanding efforts of the private and government sectors to improve the capabilities of the national workforce and enhance its role in the development of the national economy. The winners will be honored in two categories: the Dubai Human Development Award and the Estimate category. These categories cover various sectors including financial services, trade, construction, health, manufacturing, education, government, industry, services, tourism, real estate and retail.
Free zones, transport and logistics were added.
