Jordan: Wholesale prices drop by 0.8% in the first quarter of the year

Jordanian Statistics Department issued data stating
The wholesale price index for the first quarter of this year decreased by 0.8 percent compared to the fourth quarter of 2018.

The prices of the Group “Trading of Agricultural Raw Materials, Cereals, Food, Beverages and Tobacco” rose by 0.7 percent, and the Group “Trading of Sale of Machinery, Equipment and Supplies” by 1.6 percent, Selling textiles, clothing and personal and household goods “by 0.2 percent.

While the “motor vehicles, parts and motorcycles” group rose by 1.5 percent.
It is worth mentioning that the base year has been adjusted to become 2010 instead of 1998, where the price data are collected through a sample of 330 commercial establishments, including 1590 commodities traded in the wholesale market as well as the prices of vegetables and fruits,
