DUBAI: ENERGY DEMAND AND WATER MANAGEMENT STRATEGY TO BE ACHIEVED BY 2030

HH Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Supreme Council of Energy in Dubai, chaired the 55th meeting of the Board in the presence of the Vice President of the Council.

The meeting was attended by His Excellency the Secretary General of the Council and members of the Board: Managing Director and CEO of Emirates International Aluminum Company, Director General of Dubai Municipality, CEO of ENOC Group, Deputy Chairman of the Dubai Nuclear Energy Commission and Executive Director of Strategy and Corporate Governance Sector at the Roads and Transport Authority Petroleum.

The meeting discussed a number of issues, including progress in updating the Dubai Energy and Water Demand Management Strategy 2010/ 2030, which aims to reduce the demand for electricity and water by 30% by 2030, and to join the institutions and bodies affiliated with the Supreme Council of Energy in Dubai for the Green Economy and the Second Preparatory Conference on the Establishment of the World Green Economy Organization and the Private Sector Platform Forum.

Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council of Energy in Dubai said that the strategy of energy demand management and water includes 10 programs including new buildings and infrastructure existing buildings and infrastructure efficiency of cooling specifications of household appliances and equipment smart homes and smart business centers Sun Dubai Water treatment and groundwater treatment efficiency and smart charging points and efficiency Fuel and engines.
He pointed out that the meeting dealt with the second preparatory conference on the establishment of the World Green Economy Organization and the private sector platform forum which will be held in Dubai in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment and the joining of institutions and bodies affiliated with the Supreme Council of Energy.

The Secretary General of the Supreme Council of Energy in Dubai said that the meeting discussed the work of the Green Building Committee in line with the global trend towards a low-carbon economy, energy consumption and the development of buildings that consume energy near zero, thus enhancing the sustainability of the UAE ” .
