Etihad Cargo expands its presence in North America and international markets

Etihad Cargo, the shipping and logistics arm of Etihad Aviation Group, announced the launch of its winter season program and network plan on September 29, which includes weekly new cargo services to enhance its presence in the United States and other global strategic shipping markets.
The enhancement of services between Abu Dhabi International Airport and Columbus, Ohio is at the top of the company’s annual update list. The new service will be available on a weekly basis from Abu Dhabi to Europe to Rickenbacker International Airport in Ohio, supported by an extensive network of trucking routes linking Rickenbacker Airport and others. From destinations in the United States, including Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, Houston and Philadelphia.
Etihad Airways plans to include a second weekly flight to Rickenbacker International Airport, which will open a new commercial terminal to Europe before the end of the year.
Cargo flights to Rickenbacker are complemented by Etihad Airways’ wide-body cargo capacity that connects Abu Dhabi directly to major US destinations such as Chicago, Los Angeles, New York and Washington DC.
Christel Alemo has been appointed as North America Operations Manager, responsible for supporting Etihad Cargo operations across North America and enhancing its presence and commitment to the global market.

Etihad Cargo aims to establish itself as one of the leading destinations in the international air cargo industry, leveraging Abu Dhabi’s strategic location at the center of one of the world’s most dynamic commercial routes.
The updated Etihad Cargo network includes a weekly Boeing 777 cargo service to Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg from 5 October, paving the way for the important South African city to be a major shipping destination on the African continent, as it is a hub for the flow of perishable goods trade and other products from And to Europe and Asia.
The new cargo services to Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg are also complemented by the cargo capacity available on daily wide-body aircraft, connecting Abu Dhabi Airport to Johannesburg, Cairo, Casablanca, Rabat and Lagos.
Additional wide-body cargo services were also supported by increased flights between Abu Dhabi and London’s Heathrow Airport, with a fourth daily route from 27 October, as well as tactical changes in the type of aircraft used, from the A380 to the Boeing 777, on the second daily transport route to Paris’ Charles de Gaulle International Airport, will also change the Airbus 330 aircraft that take routes to Jakarta’s Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, Kempe Gouda International Airport in Bengaluru and Tambo Airport in Johannesburg.
