Typhoon Noro makes landfall in Vietnam, causing damage and flooding

Typhoon Noru made landfall in Vietnam early Wednesday morning, causing damage to thousands of homes and widespread flooding.

Nuru made its way directly towards the coastal city of Quang Nam and Da Nang Province in the early hours of this morning, bringing winds of 117 kilometers per hour as a Category 4 storm before making landfall, according to the National Hydrometeorological Forecasting Center.

The typhoon reached Vietnam days after hitting the Philippines on Sunday as the most powerful storm there this year, killing at least eight people. No deaths were reported in Vietnam, but at least nine people were injured while trying to fortify their homes on Tuesday.
