The UAE supports the framework agreement in Sudan

Sheikh Shakhbout bin Nahyan Al Nahyan, Minister of State, visited the brotherly Republic of Sudan, during which he met Lieutenant General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, Chairman of the Transitional Sovereignty Council in Sudan.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed fraternal relations and opportunities to enhance cooperation and joint action in various fields to serve the development goals and aspirations of the two countries.

Sheikh Shakhbout bin Nahyan Al Nahyan affirmed the UAE’s support for the framework agreement that was recently signed between the Sudanese parties to address the current political crisis and make the transitional period a success, which establishes steps to ensure the building of a civilian-led government.

While the Chairman of the Transitional Sovereignty Council in Sudan referred to the developments and progress of the current political process in the country, in light of the framework agreement, stressing the commitment of the military institution to exit the political process, in preparation for the formation of a civilian government that leads to completing the transitional period leading to the elections.
