The UAE, through its humanitarian institutions, and in cooperation with the Somali Disaster Management Authority and a number of concerned authorities, continues to distribute relief aid to the population and displaced people in the areas most affected by the drought, in the Mahas and Mataban regions of Hiran region in Hare Shabelle state.
This aid comes within the framework of efforts to distribute more than a thousand tons of various relief supplies that recently arrived on board an Emirati aid ship to the port of Mogadishu to contribute to providing the necessary needs of about 2.5 million people affected by drought, and to support their humanitarian conditions.
