The UAE was elected as vice-chairman of the Tax Administration Cooperation Forum for the China Belt and Road Initiative.
Khalid Ali Al Bustani, Director General of the Federal Tax Authority, headed the UAE delegation to the first forum which lasted three days with great international participation.
The participation of the State delegation, which included representatives of the Ministry of Finance and the Authority, comes within the framework of the UAE strategy to promote international cooperation in the field of taxation.
The delegation of the UAE participated in the meeting of the Supervisory Board of the initiative, during which the memorandum of understanding was signed to participate in the forum and the election of the President and the deputies. The UAE was elected as vice president and was represented by H.E. Khalid Ali Al Bustani.
The forum discussed the development of mechanisms to enhance tax cooperation between the countries and regions of “belt and road” in order to create a supportive environment for economic growth through the provision of advanced services to taxpayers and the promotion of international economic cooperation, removing obstacles to cross-border trade and investment movement and exchange of experiences and information in the field of taxation between Countries and regions covered by the Initiative.
