Initiatives are one of the most unique markers of a leader. Leadership in the UAE urges citizens and residents to always seek unconventional, innovative and creative ways to stay in the lead and expedite progress towards the continuous level of excellence envisioned by the founders of the country since more than four decades. The initiatives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum are characterized by attracting the interest, involvment, interaction and admiration of people from all backgrounds and walks of life. Among the smart creations of HH. Fakhr al-Arab, which is still widely discussed and talked about, is the Pioneers of th UAE initiative which honored nationals from various fields for their pioneering work. In conjunction with the National Day celebrations this year, the Vice President of the UAE has directed to honor local achievements which would make our late father Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may God Rest His Soul in Peace, proud.
The creative gesture in this initiative is more than just a ceremony. The vision of the Ruler of Dubai is beyond honoring national achievements, with evidence of the extraordinary participation of people through different channels such as councils and social media to nominate the best Emirati Project that our founding leader Zayed would be pleased to see, if he was with us. At one of the discussion sessions of the Pioneers of the UAE inititative, the Mars Probe project, which was launched to space by an Emirati team, was nominated. The Khalifa Tower was another candidate, which was nominated for similar reasons to the Dubai Metro, both being highly important and successful projects that support the economy of the UAE and contribute to attracting global investments. Achievements do not end in the country of achievements. Emirati people are ambitious and creative, and with an inspiring leadership, will always be at the top.
I will not hide my indecision in selecting a project for best achievement. I love culture and poetry, and so find myself lost in chosing between the creativity of The Million Poet, The Prince of Poets or the Louvre Museum. I also admire beautiful architecture which does not stop at any building in the UAE. I fully appreciate the great achievement of launching the Mars probe into space. We are the best because of the support of our leader Khalifa. Frankly, when I went to the www.uaepioneers.gov.ae website to nominate the best achievement, I was impressed with the ease and simplicity of nomination. My decision was to nominate the Union.
The Union is the best 100% Emirati project. I want my son Rashid to grow up knowing that the best gift left to him is the Union. May God have Mercy on our Father Sheikh Zayed and May God grant him Paradise for what he gave me and my children. Thank God for the blessing of the United Arab Emirates.
