Officials and economic actors affirmed that the National Tourism Strategy 2031, launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, may God protect him, will play a major role in the transformation towards a more diversified and competitive economy at the global level.
Khalid Jassim Al Midfa, Chairman of the Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority, said: “His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum’s adoption of the National Tourism Strategy 2031 confirms the efforts made at the level of the UAE to consolidate its leading position as a preferred tourist destination in the world, despite being among the most important 10 international tourist destinations, our wise leadership aspires, as we do, to reach sustainable excellence by creating an attractive environment that contributes to attracting 100 billion dirhams of tourism investments, and raising the contribution of the tourism sector to the domestic product to 450 billion dirhams.”
Khalid Jassim Al Midfa added: “In Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority, we will employ our human and material resources in line with the objectives of the National Tourism Strategy, by developing, promoting and encouraging the tourism sector in the emirate by maintaining the sustainability of its resources and developing its investments, and enhancing the image of the state and the Emirate of Sharjah in the minds of travelers and investors. From all over the world by shedding light on the development and renaissance we are witnessing within the framework of a comprehensive and sustainable development process that is in essence in line with the directives and vision of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, may God protect him, and in line also with the fiftieth principles document that It charts and establishes a comprehensive strategic and development path in the coming years.”
