Saudi Environment”: 6 controls for the export of live livestock for the purpose of establishing productive projects abroad

The Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture of Saudi Arabia has allowed the export of live males and females for the purpose of establishing productive projects abroad, in order to support national agricultural investment and encourage Saudi investors working in livestock breeding and production projects, in addition to contributing to the genetic improvement of some animal breeds. Undersecretary of the Ministry of Animal Wealth, Dr. Hamad Al-Batshan, confirmed that the ministry has set up an export mechanism which will be subject to suspension whenever it sees fit, in accordance with the High Order No. 49621 dated 29/10/1438 AH, which stipulates granting the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture the authority to issue licenses for the export of live livestock Productivity abroad. Al-Batshan said that the conditions included 6 controls for the export of livestock for the purpose of establishing productive projects abroad. First, the purpose of exportation is to establish a breeding and fattening project for livestock abroad. Secondly, the investor who wishes to export cattle should apply to the branches of the Ministry of Environment, The third must include the required documents, proving that it has a fully established animal production project registered in the country to be exported, and provide confirmation of the readiness of the project to work, and a technical study and production plan for the livestock to be exported, Import permit for the country to be exported, in addition to a veterinary certificate approved by the branch of the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture in the area concerned to prove the absence of livestock from epidemics and infectious diseases and indicate the number and type of livestock, and numbered and meet the requirements and health requirements specified by the receiving State, Proof of payment of the fines due, if any, and the absence of violations of the provisions of the regulations of the Ministry registered on the investor, and fifth, the consignment of livestock should be from the breeds registered with the Ministry and allowed to export. Sixth: The exported livestock shall be subject to the sanitary conditions and the quarantine procedures stipulated in the veterinary quarantine law (law) in the GCC countries and its executive regulations.
