Bank transfers in the UAE amount to AED 2.58 trillion over three months

The total value of remittances between banks operating in the UAE through the UAE Exchange System (UAFTS) reached AED 2.58 trillion during the first quarter of 2019, an increase of 7.5% compared to 2.4 trillion dirhams in the same period of 2018.
The value of remittances between banks during the first quarter amounted to 1.765 trillion dirhams, while the value of remittances reached 815 billion dirhams, according to the latest figures issued by the Central Bank of UAE today.
The significant increase in interbank transfers is an indication of the high level of activity in the banking sector during the first quarter of this year, which in turn reflects the improvement witnessed by the national economic sectors.
Statistics show the value of interbank transfers in January 2019 reached to 906.4 billion dirhams, while in February it reached 778.1 billion dirhams and about 909 billion dirhams in March of the same year.
