The Ministry of Foreign Affairs issues 1,124 “return documents” for Emiratis abroad during 2022, a 62% increase for beneficiaries over last year.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation stated that the total number of beneficiaries of the “formerly emergency passport” return document for citizens abroad in 2022 amounted to 1,124, an increase of 62% over 2021.

The numbers included 746 beneficiaries of “passport loss, passport damage and passport expiration” services, and 378 beneficiaries for births over one year.

The total number of beneficiaries of the return document service during the past year 2021 amounted to 694 beneficiaries, which included 420 beneficiaries of “loss of passport, damage to the passport, and expiration of the passport,” and 216 beneficiaries for newborns and 58 for newborns over one year.

The electronic “return document” service enables the Emirati traveler who is outside the country to issue the document in less than 30 minutes, and according to high security standards, in order to provide easy digital proactive services that are in line with the customers’ aspirations to obtain the service from anywhere through its electronic platforms with ease and in accordance with the highest standards.
