Strata, a specialist manufacturer of composite airframe parts, is building a new plant under the name Strata Solvi for advanced materials / for the manufacture of carbonated carbon compounds, also referred to as “compound materials”, a high-tech / carbon fiber / Manufacturing aircraft structures in cooperation with the Belgian composite materials company “Solvi”.
Strata begins production operations at the new plant, which will be built on an area of approximately 8,000 square meters by 2020.
The production of the new plant will be exclusively for the manufacture of advanced materials / Carbon Fiber / Boeing 777X, which will serve as an industrial base serving the UAE’s vision to contribute to the diversification of the sources of GDP and to strengthen the position of Abu Dhabi is a global aviation industry hub. Adding that this new plant will be the fourth worldwide specialist in the manufacture of advanced materials / Carbon Fiber / aircraft structures.
He explained that in 2016, the company won a contract from Boeing to manufacture the vertical stabilizer for the Boeing 787 Dreamliner. Strata will manufacture the parts at its factory located at Nebras Aviation Complex, which will operate with national cadres and cadres.
During a visit to the company’s factory in Al Ain, Abdulla said that last year the company succeeded in delivering 7810 pieces around the world, which consists of 590 consignments, in addition to obtaining the certificate of accreditation for the engineering design EN9100 from Decra, Within the aviation industry.
Between 2010 and 2018, Strata supplied 3,556 shipments and 47,964 pieces to more than 3,000 aircraft, confirming the company’s growing global role in the aviation sector.
He noted that the company has successfully completed the process of modifying the exterior surface designs of the wings of the aircraft “Airbus A350-900” and the completion of the production of the first shipment of those parts for the benefit of the company “Sabka” Belgian specialized in the aviation industry, adding that the new external surfaces were designed to contribute to improve the flow Aerodynamics of the wings of the plane, which helps to reduce fuel consumption and enhance efficiency, which helps airlines to achieve more profits.
