Egyptian President discusses strengthening cooperation with IMF

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi expressed appreciation for the constructive cooperation between the IMF and the Egyptian government to implement the comprehensive economic reform program, stressing his keenness to continue cooperation with the Fund in this regard.
This came during a telephone conversation today between President Sisi and the Director General of the International Monetary Fund and Christine Lagarde.
The Spokesman for the Presidency of Egypt, Ambassador Bassam Radi, said in a statement today that the communication witnessed a review of the cooperation between Egypt and the International Monetary Fund, ways of enhancing it in a number of fields, as well as developments in the implementation of the Egyptian economic reform program.
For her part, Christine Lagarde lauded the progress made in implementing the economic reform program by the Egyptian government, stressing its keenness to continue cooperation with Egypt to complete the program and its full confidence in the Egyptian state’s procedures in carrying out economic reform measures and its keenness to implement the program at exceptional rates.
