The Minister of Transport and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Saudi Railways Company, Nabil Bin Mohammed Al Amoudi, opened the Freight Forwarding Forum in Riyadh with the participation of 90 private and public freight forwarding agencies. The meeting is based on the extensive experience of the national rail sector In the shipping of containers and minerals, and in line with the qualitative economic growth led by the vision of the Kingdom of 2030 and its objectives to increase the operational efficiency achieved through innovative shipping solutions that integrate with other transport systems, in addition to enhancing the effectiveness of supply chains in line with the Kingdom’s ambition to transform L to a global logistics platform.

Sarr Chief Executive Officer Dr. Bashar Bin Khalid Al Malik revealed that more than 12.5 million tons of railways have been transported in the Kingdom over the past year and that the operational efficiency of all services is being improved to reach 20 million tons by 2025. Of the freight trains, displacing more than half a million trucks from the Kingdom.
The owner confirmed the continued pace of growth in the transport of minerals. The total of the total transported since the beginning of this year until August, amounted to about 7 million tons of various materials and mining products, up 20% from last year. Pointing out that the “Sar” achieved, this year, a record in the transfer of phosphate amounted to 461,855 tons during the month of August, an increase of about 10 thousand tons from the same month last year.
On the north, the owner pointed out that its design took care of the establishment of areas and yards for shipment in stations, and that they contribute to achieve the vision of the Kingdom 2030 by maximizing the value of the mining sector by linking economic cities and industrial clusters with a network of length of 2750 km, And the transfer of phosphoric acid, along with the transport of molten sulfur, in accordance with the technical standards and conditions for the transport of these materials, which are safe and reliable.
At the end of the meeting, the attendees were briefed on the current and updated shipping services offered by Sar to its customers. During their tour, they witnessed models of transport trailers for various purposes, including mining materials, chemical and petroleum derivatives. The cargo services included trailers transporting military and heavy equipment, Flat and dedicated to transport trucks with their containers.
The meeting was attended by a number of dignitaries, civil and military officials, representatives of private sector establishments and national companies interested in shipping services and supply chains.
