Saudi Arabia: King Abdullah II Port ranked among the fastest growing ports in the world.

The King Abdullah Port of  Economic City in Rabigh, Saudi Arabia, is ranked second among the fastest growing ports in the world for 2018, according to the classification of “Alalainer” specialized in the analysis of data transport and port capabilities and the future development of ships and shipping routes around the world.

Within the same classification, King Abdullah is ranked 83rd in 2018 among the top 100 container ports in the world, having been ranked 87th in 2017.

This success indicates that the port is on the right track and truly embodies the slogan” Sailing towards Vision” launched at the inauguration of the port by His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince and Deputy Chairman of the Board and Minister of Defense, held a ceremony celebrating the pride of accomplishment and pride in the national spirit and the keenness of the Kingdom’s leadership on the renaissance of the Saudi economy. The port is a model for a successful partnership between the public and private sectors with more than 17 government agencies.

One official  pointed out that the port represents a valuable added value to the Kingdom’s economy in the logistical support and attracting commercial and industrial investments, stressing the port’s unlimited support from public and private partners, enhancing the role of the port in advancing the national economy through the provision of integrated logistics services Contribute to highlighting the competitiveness of the Kingdom to become the leading logistics platform in the world.

The port has an advanced infrastructure including container berths with a depth of 18 meters and is the deepest in the world. It also has the largest and most advanced cranes in the world. It uses the latest technology and has a lifting capacity of 65 tons and a capacity of handling 25 containers. Service for vessels  contain containers, current and future.
