The majority of visitors to Madinah conclude their journey of faith by purchasing gifts and souvenirs to take them to relatives and family in their countries, while the authorities related to serving the guests of Rahman in Madinah facilitate their departure through Prince Muhammad bin Abdulaziz International Airport, the Haramain Express Train Station, and the highways in Madinah to many Destinations and cities inside and outside the Kingdom.
And “SPA” monitored the scenes of visitors’ interest in shopping and buying some gifts before leaving for their countries, as they have many shopping options in the central area and closed markets in Madinah, and gold shops are witnessing a high demand from buyers, especially from women who are keen to acquire gold, which is witnessed during This year, there is an increase in its price, ranging from 190 riyals per gram to 240 riyals per gram, according to the gold standard, quality and source of its manufacture.
According to the gold sellers whom SPA met in the central area surrounding the Prophet’s Mosque, the Eid season records the largest percentage of sales in gold exhibitions and stores throughout the year, due to the demand for buying the yellow metal, as a precious gift given to mothers, wives and girls, to celebrate the holiday, while Gold shops are keen to provide a variety of jewelry that meet the tastes of women, accompanied by field visits to the regulatory authorities to verify the quality of the supply.
The northern side of the Prophet’s Mosque is surrounded by shops with unified designs that were built along the exit road for worshipers from the Prophet’s Mosque to serve visitors and provide most of their needs. It provides the possibility of electronic payment and includes shops for gifts and accessories, religious and scientific books, Saudi, Eastern and Western foods and meals, in addition to varieties of packed dates. Which is one of the most important purchases that the pilgrim and visitor carry in his bag during his return to his country.
Some visitors deliberately buy gifts that commemorate their visit, and the acquisition of some products that are manufactured or prepared in Medina, such as buying Saudi dress and Saudi traditional costumes, Saudi coffee, prayer beads and silver rings, carpets, utensils, perfumes and clothes, in addition to electrical appliances and mobile phones, as well as Zamzam water containers for air freight, and the majority of visitors are keen to take souvenir photos in the Prophet’s Mosque, in the squares, and in the religious and historical sites and monuments that they frequent to commemorate his visit to Medina.
