The Ministry of Industry issued more than 36,000 “certificates of origin” in January

The Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources has issued more than 36,000 “certificates of origin” since the issuance of the “certificate of origin service” was transferred to it in early January, as part of its endeavor to support and facilitate the service for exporters in various sectors, whether industrial, commercial, or the individual sector.

The certificate of origin is a document stating that the products exported abroad are of national origin or have acquired the status of national origin. The service targets industrial establishments, the commercial sector of companies and institutions, and the individual sector, including farmers, fishermen, individuals with individual activities, local craftsmen, and others.

The certificate includes five forms: a certificate of origin for national products of the countries of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf, a certificate of origin for national products of the Arab countries, a certificate of origin (preferential) the unified form for the Arab countries of the Gulf when exporting to countries and economic groupings with which they have free trade agreements, and a certificate of origin in both languages. Arabic and English for the rest of the countries that do not grant preferential treatment (general form), and the certificate of origin (Form A) for the Generalized System of Preferences.

The ministry stated in a press statement today that it is possible to apply for a certificate of origin through the ministry’s website through the link https://coo.mim.gov.sa.
