Finance is preparing to launch a new integrated payment system through 2020

The Ministry of Finance reviewed the strategic development plan for the future transformation of the electronic dirham system during its first meeting with senior officials of the federal government and local authorities held at the Boulevard Hotel in Dubai today.
The meeting reviewed the stages of the development of the e-Dirham system since the launch of the first generation in 2001 and the strategic plan it set to ensure the sustainability of the system and is scheduled to be implemented from 2020, where the ministry seeks to provide the electronic dirham system best technology solutions applications.
The strategic plan for the future transformation of the electronic dirham system includes the development of digital payment mechanisms in the UAE, working with all national and state banks, and supporting the achievement of the objectives of the national agenda for the digital economy of business models and competitiveness.
By launching the strategic plan for the future transformation, the Ministry seeks to establish a national brand identity to develop national payments and strengthen the UAE’s position as a world leader in payments. The new payment system will contribute to protecting the financial system in the country and ensuring the sustainability of financial flows of federal government fees and services efficiently and effectively. Which facilitates user experience and increases the indicators of satisfaction and happiness of dealers.
