The Saudi Council for Quality in Jeddah celebrated the 25th anniversary of its founding in the presence of the Governor of the Saudi Organization for Standardization, Metrology and Quality, Dr. Saad bin Othman Al Qasabi.
The Chairman of the Saudi Council for Quality, Dr. Aa’id Bin Tala Al-Amri said in his speech during the ceremony that the celebration of the 25th anniversary of its founding, which is the first and oldest association of quality in the Arab world is a worthy leadership for our dear country, pointing out that the Council has worked during the past years to promote quality and culture in society in all its different sectors.
Dr. Saad bin Othman al-Kasabi expressed his happiness at participating in this blessed celebration, which is one of the national experiences that highlight the integration and harmony between civil society organizations and specialized professional societies on the one hand and government agencies on the other.
He added that the presence of this distinctive constellation of opinion and thought , Who bear the torch of quality, and the workers to spread culture and the consolidation of their concepts emphasizes the importance of quality as an urgent need in this historic period experienced by our Kingdom under the guidance of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdul Aziz and his faithful custodian God.
Al Qusabi explained that the concept and applications of quality, as it represents a pivotal and essential pillar in improving the quality of life in the Kingdom in general, by improving the quality of services, goods and products … It is imperative to urge the pace and commitment to quality standards and practices and to take advantage of these opportunities to emphasize the Kingdom’s leadership in all Areas at the international and regional levels.
He pointed out that the Authority works continuously through integrated and parallel efforts to develop and implement policies, regulatory and legal framework and practices necessary to support and enhance the role of national quality infrastructure through developing mechanisms for issuing and adopting technical standards and regulations according to a clear methodology.
Other efforts to develop the system of conformity assessment, including the accreditation activity, which is one of the most important tests and the work of inspection and certification, and access to the accreditation activity, which is one of the most important pillars of the national infrastructure for quality.
Al Qasabi said that the Authority seeks to support all initiatives that will promote and consolidate quality practices and spread its culture in different business sectors, to reflect on the reality of quality practices in the Kingdom.
