The second Saudi-UAE Economic Forum will be held tomorrow morning in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, under the chairmanship of HE Eng. Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansouri, Minister of Economy of the United Arab Emirates, and Dr Majid Bin Abdullah Al Qasabi, Minister of Trade and Investment, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Businessmen, investors and private sector activists from both countries.
The forum is organized by the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry in cooperation with the Ministry of Economy, the General Union of Chambers of Commerce and Industry of the UAE, the Ministry of Commerce and Investment and the Council of Chambers Council in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The Minister of Economy, Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansouri, said that the past years witnessed many pioneering steps in the development of prospects for bilateral cooperation especially in the economic field, where the two countries have made great strides in uniting energies and enhancing integration. He stressed the importance of steps taken by both sides to diversify and develop economic cooperation frameworks Which will enhance the growth opportunities not only in the markets of the two countries, but also in the region as a whole in light of the countries’ capabilities and economic potential. The two countries are the two largest economies in the Arab region, And its connectivity to many promising markets.
The total non-oil foreign trade between the two countries in 2017 registered a new jump of 11% over the previous year, recording more than 79 billion dirhams (21.5 billion dollars), reflecting the efforts exerted to sustain the growth of this fruitful partnership.
Mohammed Thani Al-Rumaithi, Chairman of the Federation of UAE Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ADCCI), affirmed that the second meeting of the UAE Economic Forum comes as a step towards the success of the forum in its first edition, To reaffirm the importance of activating the mechanisms of constructive cooperation in the economic, trade and investment sectors vital to the two brotherly countries, pointing out that the economic relationship and trade partnership between the UAE and Saudi Arabia is the largest among the region and Khalili Arab, and the organization of the economic forum to promote and keep pace with the development of these relations and development visions, to promote the integrated economic system between the two sides, and activate them in favor of improving the business environment and achieve sustainable development.
He added that the forum will be attended by a large number of members of the Board of Directors of the UAE Chambers of Commerce and Industry and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in the UAE and will participate in many private sector activities in various fields. This will be a special opportunity for businessmen and investors in both countries to learn about the plans and programs of vital and promising investments for both countries. The vision of the UAE 2021 and the vision of Saudi Arabia 2030.
He pointed out the importance of the forum, which will contribute to the promotion of trade and investment opportunities for a wider horizons, through the development of more incentives to attract investment, and increase communication between investors and private sector actors.
