“Identity and Nationality” updates the conditions for those who have stayed abroad for more than 6 months

The Federal Authority for Identity and Nationality, Customs and Ports Security announced updates to apply for an entry permit to the UAE, for those staying abroad for more than 6 months, namely, “The remaining period of residence must be more than 60 days when submitting the application.”

And she emphasized that the other requirements “the application must be submitted from outside the country, and the customer can apply after 180 days of staying outside the country, and upon approval of the application, he must enter the country within 30 days, and this includes the date of approval of the application, and providing a reason justifying the presence outside the country.” More than 180 days, and a fine of 100 dirhams is calculated for every 30 days or less spent outside the country.

She indicated that the new service includes all residencies approved within the system of services provided by the authority, and allows activating the residency again and entering the country with the same residency after the approval of the authority.

She explained that customers can apply for a permit application through the authority’s smart services system, or the smart phone application «UAEICP», with a fee of 150 dirhams, or through customer happiness centers, or through authorized printing offices of the authority.

And she stressed that activating the entry permit service related to residents who have stayed outside the country for more than 6 months, aims to make customers happy and enable residents who have valid residencies in the Emirates, and were forced to stay outside the country for study, work or treatment for a period of more than 6 months, and then exhausted them The specified period of stay. Outside the country, which entails the legal revocation of residency.

Approval of the application requires submitting a copy of the Emirates ID and a copy of the passport, and attaching the reason for the delay in entering the country, as the service is limited to customers from abroad only, who have stayed for more than 6 months abroad.
