The Saudi General Organization for Statistics issued the labor market bulletin for the third quarter 2018 according to the estimates of the labor force survey carried out by the Authority on a quarterly basis, as well as according to labor market data from the administrative records of the relevant authorities (Ministry of Labor and Social Development, Ministry of Civil Service, General for Social Insurance, Human Resources Development Fund and National Information Center).
The economic participation rate of the total population (15 years and over) was 56.4% compared to 56.2% for the second quarter. The economic participation rate of the Saudi population was stable at 42.0% as in the previous quarter. (15 years and over) to (19.7%) compared to (19.6%) for the previous quarter.
Unemployment rate for the total population (15 years and over) decreased from 12.9% in the previous quarter to 12.8% in the previous quarter. Unemployment rate for the total population (15 years and above) was 6.0% In the third quarter of 2018. The unemployment rate for Saudi females decreased by 30.9% compared to 31.1% in the second quarter of 2018. The unemployment rate for Saudi males decreased by 7.5% compared to 7.6% in the second quarter of 2018.
The bulletin also showed a decrease in the total number of employees according to the administrative records in the Kingdom for the third quarter 2018 compared to the second quarter of 2018, which reached (12,688,042) individuals compared to (13018.066) individuals in the previous quarter, by (330,024) The results also revealed a decrease in the number of Saudi employees from administrative records by (15,356). The total number of Saudi employees reached 3.109.987 during the third quarter of 2018 compared to 3,125,343 in the previous quarter.
The results of the bulletin showed a decrease in the number of male non-Saudi male employees from administrative records in the Kingdom for the third quarter 2018 by (304.972) individuals for the second quarter of 2018, reaching (8,622,890) individuals against (8.927.862) persons in the previous quarter, The number of non-Saudi females increased by 9.696 compared to the second quarter of 2018, reaching (955.165) people compared to (964.861) persons in the previous quarter.
