During his meeting with his office, Saif Mohammed Al-Hajri, Head of the Department of Economic Development (Abu Dhabi), discussed with the government delegation from the province of Alberta, under the chairmanship of Jusen Krebs, Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Trade.
During the meeting, they agreed to strengthen channels of communication between the Abu Dhabi Investment Office (ADIA) and Canadian investment candidates in Abu Dhabi and explore possibilities of investment opportunities in Alberta Province where Abu Dhabi has competitive advantages such as recently announced petrochemical and renewable energy projects.
Saif Mohammed Al Hajri pointed to a number of development projects implemented by the Government of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi in the strategic sectors of the most important aviation, education, energy and petrochemicals, which can be an important pillar to take advantage of the promising investment opportunities provided by the Canadian side, especially in the technology sector and knowledge.
He pointed out that under the strategy of the government of Abu Dhabi for the post-oil phase, the non-oil sectors, especially the value added, have become a top priority in achieving sustainable economic development, including manufacturing, petrochemicals, aluminum and engine components, in addition to small and medium enterprises.
