Britain replaces the image of Queen Elizabeth with the image of King Charles III on a number of denominations

The Bank of England issued a statement expressing its intention to replace the portrait of the late Queen Elizabeth II with the portrait of King Charles on a number of banknotes.

The statement stated that this procedure will begin after the mourning for the late queen, which will last 10 days, ends.

The statement clarified that the currency denominations bearing the image of the Queen will remain in force and that the change will apply to all denominations bearing her image, which are 5, 10, 20 and 50 pounds.

The statement confirmed that this measure will apply to Australia, Canada, New Zealand, Jamaica and the rest of the Commonwealth countries.
