Dubai Economy, represented by the Commercial Registration and Licensing Sector, has achieved outstanding results for the “ Automatic Renewal ” service for commercial licenses during the first half of 2019, where it completed 34,250 automatic renewal transactions, which constitutes 47% of the total renewal transactions (73,404), which confirms the sustainability and competitiveness of business in the Emirate of Dubai
Automatically renewed licenses were distributed according to activity, led by commercial activities (25,071) by 73.2%, professional (8,237) by 24%, industrial activities constituted 2.2%, and tourism was 0.6%.
The auto-renewal service is part of the efforts to implement the Dubai Paperless City Strategy by 2021.This service is an opportunity for different categories of customers to complete their transactions and pay the required amounts without the need for paperwork, which helps to increase customer satisfaction and facilitate their transactions. Through the “Automatic Renewal” service, the process of renewal of commercial licenses is simplified and developed in just two steps and in less than two minutes.You can send a text message with the license number to be renewed to the number 6969.Payment authorization is sent via text message to the customer. The “Automatic Renewal” service is to send a text message to commercial license holders informing them of the date of renewal of the licenses / one week before the expiry of the license /, the channels of obtaining the service, and how to complete the renewal procedures automatically.

According to the distribution of the economic activities of the automatically renewed licenses during the first half of 2019, the report showed the most prominent commercial activities as follows: General Trading activity, followed by Perfume and Cosmetics Trading, Ready Made Garments Trading, Gift Trading and Paints and paints, “watch and spare parts trade”, “textiles and textile trade”, “floor and wall paving”, “carpentry and floor installation” and “sanitary fittings”.
