A collaboration between Abu Dhabi Ports and SEG Enera to establish a joint venture in Uzbekistan

Abu Dhabi, March 6, 2018. Abu Dhabi Ports Group and SEG Enera Group, one of the largest multi-sector holding companies in Uzbekistan, today announced the formation of a new joint venture, ADL-Ulanish, to provide integrated global logistics services. in Uzbekistan.

Through the new joint venture, the Abu Dhabi Ports Group will offer its extensive experience in global supply chain logistics and advanced technologies to the new company, with the aim of addressing the logistical challenges faced by companies in Uzbekistan, given that the country is landlocked and is surrounded by five other landlocked countries.

In turn, SEG Enera will share its best practices, regional expertise and industrial assets that include warehousing capabilities, rail connectivity and its road fleet of trucks to serve the project.

Through the joint venture, the two sides will cater to the commercial needs of SEG Enera and other players in the Uzbekistan market operating in a number of sectors including industrial project logistics, oil and gas, e-commerce, healthcare and pharmaceuticals.

ADL-Ulanich will offer a variety of advanced services that include freight forwarding, air and land logistics, warehousing, customs clearance, as well as the development of inland container depots and dry ports. In addition, the company will provide a range of digital solutions that enhance the integration and efficiency of services, and will also use its expertise in the field of food security and supply chain to support the establishment of a food center in Uzbekistan.

Thanks to its strategic location at the crossroads of trade routes between Asian and European markets, Uzbekistan and the Central Asian region are an important land logistics hub, and the World Bank forecasts that their GDP will grow from 3.9% in 2023 to 4.3% in 2024.

It should be noted that the UAE and Uzbekistan signed a memorandum of understanding in June 2022 to support operations in 27 sectors and implement initiatives to modernize the work of the government sector in order to benefit from the country’s expertise and strengthen bilateral relations between the two sides.
