The organization of cloud computing in Saudi Arabia begins after 30 days

The Saudi Communications and Information Technology Commission (STC) has announced a regulatory framework for cloud computing that ensures the organization, obligations and rights of cloud service providers, individual users, and the public and private sectors.
The Communications and Information Technology Commission pointed out that cloud computing services will contribute to the empowerment of the knowledge economy and the information society and stimulate individuals, government and private sector to digitize the achievement of the objectives of the National Transition Program 2020 and the vision of the Kingdom 2030.
The regulatory framework aims to develop the ICT sector, provide an environment conducive to attracting local and international investors, and localization of cloud computing services, in addition to stimulating the adoption of solutions and technologies in the Kingdom to improve the performance, productivity and flexibility of government agencies and the private sector. .
The TRA confirmed that the regulatory framework for cloud computing will enter into force 30 days after the announcement and invited the concerned authorities and interested parties to consult the regulatory framework document through the Commission’s website at http://www.citc.gov.sa. Cloud computing services are characterized by reduced operating costs, ease of access, continuity of service and high level of protection, increasing entrepreneurship support and encouraging small and medium enterprises to use these services.
