Realizing the Vision

Economists often speak about future visions for which the roadmap has been drawn by insightful leaders who foresee the future and not just predict it. But these visions require competent men and women to achieve the set strategic goals and turn the foreseen future into a civilized reality from which we can reap its fruits in our present life. In the 1990s, future development plans termed as “five-year” plans, intended to be implemented within five years, were published in official papers. I personally, and my generation, have had the lion’s share in witnessing and living the successful outcomes of those plans. Now, we are proud of the significant progress of our country achieved through the implementation of carefully studied plans.

Under the leadership of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, the UAE is moving towards a bright future that will enable it to remain at the top of the Great Economic Powers’ pyramid, based on a distinguished national wealth of men and women who can implement future visions accurately. In the last few years, Abu Dhabi has launched its strategic plan based on Abu Dhabi Vision 2030, which includes the provision of an advanced infrastructure in all areas to ensure continued economic and social growth. The UAE is proud of the many cultural achievements that are a realistic evidence of proper implementation of the vision of our leadership. The COSCO Abu Dhabi Container Terminal of COSCO Naval Ports Company Limited at Khalifa Port is one of the most important economic achievements of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, given that it is one of the most dynamic projects with a positive impact on several sectors including economy, trade, industry and logistics. Strategic partnerships with the international community have strengthened the UAE’s position as a strategic hub on the new Silk Road linking China to the world. The future vision of the Gulf Arab region as a gateway to global investment for re-industrialization and exportation has become a reality today and will continue to be so for generations to come.

The equation is very simple in the UAE, perseverance and diligence of men and women of the UAE to achieve the vision of our leadership equals achievements that we are proud of now, and will be a support for our children in the future. The UAE has the best ports dreamed of by any investor in the world. The Jebel Ali Port in Dubai is the ideal destination for re-export and has  taken over the strategic importance of other ancient ports that were legendary in the past. The current achievements through Khalifa Port further strengthen the position of the UAE in the economic map and motivates the world’s decision-makers to continue their support to keep the UAE as the ideal international hub. We are at the top, due to God Almighty first, followed by the vision of our wise leadership that has guided the future, as well as the arms of dedicated men and women who have worked hard on implementing and realizing the vision.
