Dubai Customs discusses ways to enhance trade exchange with Kazakhstan

Ahmed Mahboob Musabeh, Director General of Dubai Customs and Rawan Zomabek, Consul General of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Dubai and the Northern Areas, discussed ways of enhancing cooperation and trade exchange between the two sides.
The Director General of Dubai Customs praised the efforts of the diplomatic bodies of Kazakhstan and their role in developing economic and trade relations. Dubai is a destination and a corridor for their trade locally, regionally and globally in support of Dubai’s progress in establishing the Dubai Silk Line, which establishes the UAE as a global hub for regional and international trade.
He said that Dubai Customs is keen to develop economic partnership with Kazakhstan to achieve the guidance of wise leadership and the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, “to increase trade exchange with trade partners. The importance of the belt and the road launched by China to link its markets across Asian countries to global markets as the UAE plays a pivotal role in this project due to the development of trade infrastructure and services. Trade and Customs in the UAE is supported by the promising acceptance of its commercial status globally with Dubai hosting Expo 2020.
The Director General of Dubai Customs said that Dubai’s foreign trade with Kazakhstan is growing, increasing from AED 467.8 million in 2016 to more than AED 635 million in 2017 and continued to grow to reach AED 743.4 million in 2018 and the value of Dubai’s trade with Kazakhstan. In the first quarter of 2019, about 355.4 million dirhams, where goods vary in the trade between the two parties, led by auto parts, tires, scanners, silver, zinc and cigarettes.
The meeting discussed the organization of a meeting for companies and investors from Kazakhstan within the initiative of “link” launched by the Department to develop relations with foreign companies and business sectors to strengthen economic and trade relations with brotherly and friendly countries and support investment and mutual trade with these countries by working to provide the best services and trade and customs facilities for its companies and traders. .
For his part, Rawan Zomabek expressed his great appreciation for the efforts of Dubai Customs and its vital role in developing trade with Kazakhstan through upgrading the level of trade and customs services and facilities provided by the Department to traders and investors from Kazakhstan. And trade between the two friendly countries.
