His Excellency Jassim Hamid Ghanem, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Umm Al Quwain Cooperative Association for Fishermen, praised the material and moral support provided by His Highness Sheikh Saud bin Rashid Al Mualla, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Umm Al Quwain, to the fishermen in the emirate, by providing His Highness with a large piece of land in the “Lattin” area in Umm Al Quwain, which includes Parking for fishermen’s boats for a nominal fee, and for picnic and commercial boats, which generates income for the association and benefits the fishermen.
The Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Umm Al Quwain Cooperative Society for Fishermen said – in an interview with the Emirates News Agency, WAM – that His Highness, the Ruler of Umm Al Quwain, spares no effort to lift the material and moral suffering of fishermen, provide them with a decent life, and preserve the fishing profession, which is part of the fishing industry. The largest of the Emirates heritage, pointing out that His Highness the Ruler of Umm Al Quwain provided fishermen with an ice factory at the highest level that provides ice to 355 active members of the association at a subsidized price, where the association also sells the factory’s products to non-fishermen and covers the needs of the fish market from ice as it contracted with a company Food to supply ice to it until the association became the only supplier in the Emirate of Umm Al Quwain, which provided material income for the association.
Jassim Hamid Ghanem explained that the association is always keen to follow up on the factory by providing the necessary maintenance and skilled labor in order to produce distinctive snow for fishermen and non-fishermen customers, noting that the association has established infrastructure at the highest level in the land of “Lattin” and has worked to cover all its area with lighting. The necessary equipment and cameras to provide security and preserve the property of the fishermen, in addition to establishing a factory for gargoils, a workshop for the maintenance of marine engines, and housing for workers so that the optimal utilization of the site is made in implementation of the directives of His Highness Sheikh Saud bin Rashid Al Mualla, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Umm Al Quwain, which will benefit the emirate’s fishermen financially and morally.
Noting that the association also provided all services to fishermen, including cars and carts to pull boats out of the water for the purpose of maintenance and “stands” for carrying boats, and all this for a nominal fee, in addition to the equipment needed for fishing, as the association has a sales department that provides more than 675 items that fishermen need in terms of equipment Fishing, spare parts and navigational equipment, which covers more than 97% of their needs, indicating that the management of the association has provided skilled labor in the indication department to carry out the marketing of fishermen’s fish so that the fisherman gets the highest amount of money.
He explained that the administration has transformed the association into a smart association through the creation of an integrated program of accounts that includes the accounts of the main association, the ice factory, the sales department and the indication, and also provided a smart application for Android, iPhone and Huawei phones that includes an account for each member of the association and provides the daily weather and includes full transactions for each member during the year.
