Khalid bin Mohammed bin Zayed and Zayed bin Hamdan bin Zayed visit the Liwa International Festival 2023

Abu Dhabi, January 6 / His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, member of the Executive Council of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi and head of the Abu Dhabi Executive Office, and His Highness Sheikh Zayed bin Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan visited the Liwa International Festival 2023, which is supervised by the Liwa Sports Club in cooperation with the Department Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi.

During the visit, their Highness inspected some of the festival’s activities and praised the efforts of the organizers and their success in holding this prominent event that celebrates the UAE’s heritage and contributes to strengthening the UAE’s tourism sector through the influx of large numbers of tourists from inside and outside the country.

Their Highnesses were accompanied during this visit by His Excellency Mohammed Khalifa Al Mubarak, Chairman of the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi, His Excellency Major General Staff Pilot Fares Khalaf Al Mazrouei, Commander-in-Chief of Abu Dhabi Police, and His Excellency Saif Saeed Ghobash, Secretary General of the Executive Council of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.

The festival celebrates the heritage of the Emirates and offers a variety of cultural and entertainment activities, as well as artistic and musical performances. The festival also provides camping enthusiasts with camping sites and enjoy the most beautiful landscapes in the region. One of the highest sand dunes in the world.

In view of the success of the festival and the great turnout from the audience, which has come in numbers estimated at hundreds of thousands since the launch of the festival on the 16th of last December, the current session witnessed an extension of its stay by an additional week to continue until the 8th of January. It also witnessed an expansion of the scope of its activities to include the village of Liwa, in which a variety of Artistic and entertainment shows that attract and impress families, and allow festival-goers and participants to enjoy watching sports competitions, visiting shops, and tasting international cuisine.
