“Dubai International” holds the world’s largest airports with passenger numbers

Dubai International Airport has retained its list of the world’s largest airports with the number of international passengers for the fifth year in a row with the number of passengers using the airport to 89.1 million passengers in 2018.
Dubai International Airport has enjoyed a successful customer service year with shorter wait times and new business and leisure facilities to enhance the passenger experience.
The total number of passengers using the airport last year reached 89 million, 149,387 passengers, up 1 percent from 2017, according to the Dubai Airports report.
The airport was able to exceed 8 million passengers twice during the past year in July, reaching 2.8 million passengers and 8.4 million passengers in August, making it the busiest month in the history of the airport since its establishment in 1960.
India continued to lead the list of destinations with Dubai Airport last year, with 12,729,485 passengers, with a greater focus on the cities of Mumbai, Delhi and Kuchin. Saudi Arabia was second on the list with 6 million, 471,142 passengers, followed by the United Kingdom Which recorded 6 million 284 thousand and 771 passengers.
Other high-profile countries include the United States (3 million, 205,000 and 524 passengers). China topped the list with 3,512,575 passengers, up 6 percent, Russia with 1,533,654 passengers, up 14.5 percent.
In terms of the most active cities with Dubai airport, London topped the busiest destinations with 3 million 817,889 passengers, while Mumbai came second with 2,540,750 passengers followed by Kuwait (2 million 194,776 passengers) .
Air traffic last year maintained relative stability of 408,251 flights (down 0.3 percent), while average passenger numbers increased slightly to 226 passengers (1.3 percent) annually.
