DMCC strengthens trade with India

The Dubai Multi Commodities Center (DMCC), the world’s leading free trade zone for commodity and enterprise trade in Dubai, today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the West Bengal Industrial Development Corporation of West Bengal Limited to strengthen strong trade relations between the Center and the Indian business community Accelerated growth.
The MoU was signed by Ferial Ahmadi, Chief Operating Officer, DMCC and Vandana Yadav, General Manager, Industrial Development Corporation of West Bengal State Limited, during the 5th edition of the Bengal World Business Summit held in Kolkata, In the presence of representatives of the State Embassy in India and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Dubai.
Ferial Ahmadi expressed confidence that the MoU will contribute to the consolidation of the existing partnership with the booming business community in India and help explore new ways to attract, facilitate and encourage trade activities between the two parties in the light of this fruitful relationship. Which looks forward to growth and prosperity in Dubai and beyond.
“India is the second largest trading partner in the UAE in terms of volume of business activities,” Ahmed Al Falahi, trade attaché at the State Embassy in India, said. The two sides are working hard to strengthen their trade ties and to create a more welcoming and encouraging environment for investment. “The DMCC and the Government of Bangladesh are keen to adopt this approach, which will bring tremendous benefits to both countries.
Al-Falahi added that the memorandum of understanding aims to mobilize the efforts of both sides to raise awareness about the importance of supporting and promoting exports, facilitating the movement and activities of trade, increasing investment interaction and enhancing the interdependence between businesses and companies from different geographic regions, sectors and industries.
Vandana Yadav, Director General of the Industrial Development Corporation of West Bengal State, said: “The Emirate of Dubai is associated with the West Bengal state with strong commercial relations. I am confident that the next phase will have many positive opportunities to strengthen these relations and pave the way for more fruitful partnerships and efforts. Which will contribute to the promotion of trade activities and the transfer of knowledge and experience.
“Dubai Multi Commodities Center (DMCC) is a strong partner that will help Dubai, India and West Bengal achieve these ambitious goals,” she said. “We look forward to working with the Center, which is the free zone operating in the world and achieving the ambitious goals set out in the new memorandum of understanding.”

Leading Indian companies operating from the center include Tata Group, Reliance, Hakan Agro, Rosy Blue and Adani Group.
