Audit Bureau Concludes the First Meeting of the Supreme Audit Institutions of the “Asusai”

The first meeting of the Supreme Audit Institutions (SAIs) will discuss the use of information technology and analysis of large data and its role in reviewing the implementation of sustainable development goals and the role of SAIs in reviewing the implementation of development goals. Of the United Nations and how to take advantage of the huge data to achieve those goals.
The meeting will be attended by working groups representing 15 members of the Asian Organization.
HE Dr. Hareb bin Saeed Al Amimi, President of the Audit Bureau, Head of the International Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (INTOSAI), stressed in his opening speech the important role played by the Audit Bureau in the UAE through its contributions to INTOSAI initiatives related to the goals of sustainable development. The knowledge and experience gained in this area by his fellow members of the Asusai Organization.
The meeting aims to develop audit strategies and practices for SAIs in and outside the Asian region over the next decade to review government performance in the implementation of sustainable development goals.
During the first day, a plenary session was held with the participation of the Federal Commission for Competitiveness and Statistics, which highlighted the tasks of the National Committee for Sustainable Development and the role of the Commission in coordinating national efforts to achieve the goals of sustainable development.
Workshops were also held on the impact of the implementation of sustainable development objectives on the role of SAIs in this area through strategic planning methodologies and audit and audit practices.
The agenda of the second day includes a plenary session to discuss how to review the performance of governments in the implementation and achievement of sustainable development goals, as well as a workshop on how to manage information by government institutions in order to achieve these goals.
The meeting concluded with a series of proposals and recommendations, including agreement on the roles and responsibilities of members and deadlines for future reports and meetings.
