More than 2,000 exhibitors representing 150 countries will participate in the Arabian Travel Market, in its 30th edition, from 1 to 4 May, and more than 34,000 visitors are expected to attend.

The 30th edition of the exhibition, which is being held on the grounds of the Dubai World Trade Center, in cooperation with the Department of Economy and Tourism in Dubai, is an essential part of the annual Arab Travel Week in the UAE. Arabian Travel Market 2023, in line with the theme of this year’s exhibition “Working towards achieving net zero emissions”, provides an ideal platform through which participants can form new connections, exchange knowledge and showcase innovations with the potential to accelerate the global travel sector’s journey towards decarbonization.

Exhibitor participation in Arabian Travel Market 2023 increased by 27% compared to last year’s edition of the event, in conjunction with recording remarkable growth in all sectors of the exhibition, including: the Middle East (15.1% larger), Europe (30.9% larger), and Asia (18.6% larger) and Africa (44.7% larger), the travel and hotel technology sectors also saw significant growth year-on-year, growing by 62% and 37.5%, respectively.

Chinese exhibitors and travel experts return again, after an absence of 3 years, to the Arab Travel Market 2023, after the country lifted travel restrictions related to the “Covid-19” pandemic, earlier this year.

The Department of Economy and Tourism in Dubai is participating in the 30th and distinguished session of the Arabian Travel Market, which is being held at the Dubai World Trade Center, from May 1 to May 4, 2023, with the participation of a large number of exhibiting companies and thousands of participants from around the world.

Dubai Economy and Tourism, during its participation in this year’s edition of the exhibition, which focuses on responsible tourism during the Year of Sustainability in the Emirates, and in line with its slogan “Working towards achieving net zero emissions”, reviews the tourism potential and offers offered by various destinations and partners in the city, in addition to To shed light on sustainability initiatives and efforts to achieve the goals of the UAE Strategic Initiative for Climate Neutral 2050, in addition to the activities and programs that ensure the sustainability of the growth of the tourism sector.

This year, the Dubai Pavilion witnessed an increase in space, with more than 122 partners and representatives of government agencies, hotels, destination management companies and tour operators joining “Dubai Economy and Tourism”, increasing their number by 21% compared to 2022, to welcome the participants and visitors to the exhibition.

The Dubai Pavilion also includes officials and representatives from major government agencies and partners, including Dubai Culture, the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs – Dubai, and the Dubai Health Authority, in addition to the Museum of the Future, Dubai Expo City, and Majid Al Futtaim.

Commenting on the participation, Issam Kazim, Executive Director of the Dubai Corporation for Tourism and Commerce Marketing, said: “This year’s Arabian Travel Market exhibition represents a turning point, with its highlighting the concept of sustainability, which is at the forefront of the global tourism sector. Throughout the previous years of the exhibition, Dubai, under the guidance of its wise leadership, has made exceptional progress in many areas that have contributed to the consolidation of its global position as a leading tourist destination, with tremendous potential, and capable of offering distinctive, diverse and sustainable offers and experiences.

Kazim added, “We will invest our presence in this important international exhibition, in which a large number of decision-makers and officials participate, in order to exchange views and discuss Dubai’s mechanism of action to support sustainability initiatives, including the UAE’s strategic initiative to achieve climate neutrality 2050, at the same time.” In which we are preparing to host the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change COP28, which will be held in November 2023, as well as to talk about the road map to achieve the goals of the Dubai Economic Agenda D33, so that the city becomes one of the three largest economic cities in the world. We also look forward, through this important annual global event hosted by the city, to cooperate with our partners, stakeholders and the global travel community in general, to maintain the global city’s position as a preferred tourist destination to visit, as well as to shape the future of the tourism sector, and to be a role model for the recovery of the global tourism sector. ».

Also, during the exhibition, the Department of Economy and Tourism in Dubai will highlight the achievements of the “Dubai Sustainable Tourism Initiative”, including the “Dubai Initiative” for sustainability, which encourages people to change their lifestyle, by reducing plastic consumption, which includes single-use bottles. As part of the city’s commitment to sustainability, no plastic will be used in the Dubai pavilion during the exhibition. The department also displays culinary arts and foods for national companies and local brands, while ensuring that the gifts that are distributed carry the concept of sustainability.

The Department of Economy and Tourism in Dubai also organizes this year the largest hosting program for buyers, which lasts for six days from April 29 to May 4, and showcases the potential of the distinguished hospitality sector in Dubai. This gathering is set to be the largest to break previous records, as 450 buyers representing 31 different countries and markets from all continents of the world will participate in the programme. The opening of markets and the resumption of travel and restoring it to its previous levels enabled the Department of Economy and Tourism in Dubai to host a large number of tour operators and travel agents, to allow them to explore the exceptional tourism offers in Dubai.

Visitor Program

The visitor program includes an extensive two-day city tour on April 30 and May 1, so buyers can experience Dubai’s vibrant culture, impressive architecture, and atmosphere.
