Abu Dhabi Global Market issues regulations for hotels and tourism

The Abu Dhabi Global Market issued regulations for hotels and tourism for the year 2023, which adopt the tourism legislation for the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, and include regulations and provisions related to hotels and tourism sectors, which are supervised by the Department of Culture and Tourism in Abu Dhabi, within the regulatory framework of the Abu Dhabi Global Market.

And by adopting Abu Dhabi legislation, the Department of Culture and Tourism in Abu Dhabi assumes all organizational responsibilities; Including supervision, control, and implementation obligations related to hotels and tourism establishments existing in the Abu Dhabi Global Market, while the registration authority in the Abu Dhabi Global Market reserves the right to issue commercial licenses for hotels and tourism establishments operating within the jurisdiction of the market, and to issue other related permits.

The new tourism regulations aim to ensure that all existing establishments in the Abu Dhabi Global Market comply with the requirements and licenses necessary to conduct any business or activity related to the provision of tourism, recreation or entertainment services to the public, including but not limited to hotels, resorts, restaurants, hotel apartments, holiday homes, and homes. Cinemas, theatres, museums, tour operators, tourist transport companies and agencies, tourism offices, and various recreational facilities, and their commitment to the requirements of Abu Dhabi legislation.

Hamad Sayyah Al Mazrouei, CEO of the Abu Dhabi Global Market Registration Authority, said: “Abu Dhabi Global Market is keen to take initiatives aimed at strengthening mutual strategic cooperation with government agencies in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, which seek to achieve the economic goals of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. In this context, Abu Dhabi Global Market signed a cooperation and authorization agreement with the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi, to benefit from its extensive experience and knowledge in the field of organizing and monitoring hotels and tourism institutions operating within the jurisdiction of Abu Dhabi Global Market.

He added, “The adoption of the Abu Dhabi Emirate’s legislation related to hotels and tourism, within the Abu Dhabi Global Market’s legislation, provides greater ease for operators of hotels and tourism services, and confirms the regulatory harmony of the hotel and tourism sector in the Abu Dhabi Global Market, and its integration with the systems of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi in general.”
