Abu Dhabi Police presented 6 performances of the play “Forsa Hope” at the level of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, with the aim of enhancing community awareness of the importance of solidarity between the family and the competent authorities, to protect children from the danger of falling into the clutches of drugs.
The play was shown in Sheikh Mubarak bin Mohammed Al Nahyan Hall in the Police Department Complex, Baynouna Hall in Al Dhafra Region, on the breakwater in Abu Dhabi Corniche, and twice in the Zayed University Theatre. Patients who abuse and are addicted to treatment and prevention from the effects of this devastating scourge.
Brigadier General Dr. Hammoud Saeed Al Afari, Director of the Community Police Department, emphasized Abu Dhabi Police’s interest in addressing the scourge of drugs and educating families about the dangers of addiction, pointing out that the department organizes campaigns, lectures and educational events throughout the year, to educate school and university students and parents about the dangers of the scourge.
For his part, Brigadier General Taher Gharib Al Dhaheri, Director of the Narcotics Control Directorate, said that there is already an opportunity for hope for treatment, removal of fear and hesitation from abuse and addiction patients, and recovery from this scourge.
For his part, First Lieutenant Issa Abdullah Al-Falasi, Director of the Community Awareness Branch at the Community Police Department and the author and director of the work, explained that the play comes as an initiative of the “Community Police” within the framework of the “Chance of Hope” campaign, in cooperation with the Drug Control Directorate, the Security Media Department, and a number of participating parties.
The audience watched the unemployed young Salem, who dreams of a distinguished job and a high salary, to live the life of the wealthy, but his exploited friend distances him from his beautiful dream and drags him into the circle of addiction and drug abuse, then we see in the context of the play the cooperation of Salem’s mother and sister with the competent authorities to treat and save Salem One of the scourges he fell into through the Forsa Amal service, which allows drug users to seek treatment in a manner that guarantees complete confidentiality, in addition to providing awareness programs, and we find his friend Hamad, who is very close to Salem, who had a great role in standing by him and following him in overcoming his condition.
The Abu Dhabi Police concluded, in cooperation with partners, the third edition of the comprehensive awareness campaign to combat drugs under the slogan “A Chance of Hope”, with the participation of the Drug Control Directorate, the Community Police Department, the Security Media Department, the Protocol and Public Relations Department, and the Judicial Department, the Community Development Department – Abu Dhabi, and the Union. The General Women’s Association, the Abu Dhabi Center for Shelter and Humanitarian Care “Ewaa”, the Zayed Higher Organization for People of Determination, the National Rehabilitation Center, the Emirates Heritage Club, and the Juvenile Awareness and Care Association.
