Ukrainian grain exports rise to 2.16 million tons in July

31 / Jul

Data from the Ukrainian Ministry of Agriculture showed, on Monday, that Ukrainian grain exports for the first month of the new season rose to 2.16 million metric tons on July 31, 2023, after it was 1.61 million in July 2022.

The exports included 1.11 million tons of corn, 758 thousand tons of wheat and 285 thousand tons of barley.

The ministry said: “Ukraine exported 1.1 million tons of corn, 361 thousand tons of wheat and 142 thousand tons of barley in July 2022.”

Exports for the entire 2022-2023 season amounted to about 49 million tons, surpassing the previous season’s 48.4 million tons.

Most of the exports were shipped through the ports of the Black Sea, under an agreement brokered by the United Nations and Turkey in July last year, in efforts to contain a global food crisis that worsened after the war.
